Very Rev. Fr. David Baka


The Catholic Diocese of Lafia, and the Most Rev. Dr. Matthew Ishaya Audu, wish to announce the shocking news of the demise of one of her beloved Priest, Very Rev. Fr. David Baka, working in the Catholic Diocese of Lafia, whose departure from this earthly dweling took place on 10th July, 2015 after a ghastly motto accident, ago Keffi-Abuja Road. This death is coming bearly one month after the death of Rev. Fr. Joespeh Edeh.

Fr. David Baka was born in 1955. Rev. Fr. David Baka hails from Tudu Uku, of St. Matthias parish, Gitata. He was Ordained on 14th February, 1982, By Pope St. John Paul II, in Kaduna during his visit to Nigeria. Very Rev. Fr. Baka was Kind hearted, Jovial, generous and committed to his priestly call. He was zealous and responded to the needs of the people he was working with. He was a builder, for in almost all the parishes he has served he built either father's house or Church.

He has worked in four parishes since the creation of Lafia diocese. And had worked also in a lot of parishes in the then Makurdi diocese when it encompased the whole of Otukpo, Gboko, Katsinala and Lafia dioceses. Until his demise we was the Parish Priest of Holy Emmanuel New Karu.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:

Body leaves OLA Hospital, Akwanga Thursday 23rd July by 3pm

Body arrives St. William's Cathedral, Lafia 5pm for wake-keep Mass

FUNERAL MASS: St. Willaim's Cathedral, Lafia on Friday 24th July, 2015 by 10am.

Interment: Diocesan Clergy Cemetery, Lafia immediately After mass.

May his soul and the Souls of all the faithful Departed rest in peace. Amen.
